Coquitlam Lake View Trail
Coquitlam Lake View Trail (CLVT) is a trail in Pinecone Burke Mountain in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. The trail is in the same vicinity as the Woodland Walk (Sawblade Falls and Woodland Falls trail). Roadside parking is available along the road that leads to trailhead. CLVT is an out and back trail. Round trip is about 12 km. Elevation gain is about 600 m.
There are several trails close to each other in that area therefore you need to know where you are going and download the offline maps before you start. Trail makers are not that great in the first half of the trail. They become more and more visible in the second half. The trail is moderate in my standard. It’s not that long and not that steep, and there is no technical about the trail either. The good thing about the trail is that there are not that many people. You have to cross 2 running creeks (streams) so water prove shoes are highly recommended. Like any trails in that area, you will hear the loud noise from the fishing and hunting club during the first half of the trail.
There is not much view along the trail. The view is good at the view point. You can see Coquitlam lake and surrounding mountains. However the view point is very small (holds about 6 people) and on top of a sharp cliff (read: be-careful where you stand). All in all, a good exercise if not for anything else.
